Daily English Diary #9 Changes

I just finished my last class and summer vacation starts at 5:15.

This means changes for me. This means I don’t have to wake up early in the morning and take the train to school. It means I can “sleep in”. I put “sleep in” in quotes because I never can seem to really sleep in. Summer vacation also means that I have tons of time to devote to my extra adventures. For me, this means publish new books, make new videos more often and have private lessons with my students.

Honestly, I am excited for all of the changes that will come during summer vacation. But some changes are difficult. As happy as I am to have time to do things that I’ve been dreaming of all semester, I will miss teaching. I will miss the routine of going to work and teaching. I will miss the high fives and the “teacher teacher” shouts. Life will be quiet. Life will be still.

Most people say that they will use their vacation time to work on themselves. To improve how they are as a person in some way. They will meditate or they will start an exercise routine. I am not one of those people. What I do instead is turn those things into my new job. A summer job.

My summer job is to publish Awesome Reading Comprehension Level 3, 4, and 5. My summer job is to make more videos for my channel and help my global students. My summer job is to tutor my current students and maybe accept some more for online tutoring. My summer job is to go to the gym every single day like I have been doing already. My summer job is also to do more.
